What is included in a PostSnag export?
Download data for AI covers post data with a reaction total only. Download media for AI and Download Data & Media for AI add the real video and image files, not thumbnails.

The Export menu has three options: Download data for AI (a Markdown file and a CSV file together), Download media for AI (a .zip of the images and videos), and Download Data & Media for AI (a .zip with both). A PostSnag export includes two kinds of thing depending on which option you pick: the post data (date, type, engagement totals, caption, and links) in the Markdown and CSV files that Download data for AI gives you, and the real media files themselves (actual video and image files, not thumbnails) in the two options that include media. One rule holds across every option: reactions always show up as a single total, never broken down by type.
CSV columns, in order
A profile's CSV is a flat table with one row per post and exactly these columns:
Posted: the post's date
Type: Video, Photo, Album, Link, or Text
Reactions: the total reaction count for that post
Comments: the comment count
Shares: the share count
Views: the view count PostSnag captured for that post, mainly on video and reel posts; shows 0 when Facebook didn't expose one
Duration_Sec: how long a video or reel runs, in seconds; blank for post types that don't have a duration
Content: the post's caption text
Post_URL: a link back to the post on Facebook
Media_URLs: link(s) to the post's captured image or cover image
Link_Title: the title of an external link preview, if the post shares one
Link_URL: the URL of that external link
The column order never changes between exports, so a spreadsheet formula or script built around these headers keeps working export after export.
Markdown structure, section by section
The Markdown file that comes with Download data for AI reads like a document instead of a table:
A heading with the profile's name and @username
A bio quote, if the profile has one
A totals block: posts exported, total reactions, total comments, and total shares, plus followers if that number is available (group-sourced profiles often don't report a follower count, since Facebook hides it inside groups)
A link to the profile on Facebook
One section per post, each headed with its number, type, and date, showing that post's reactions, comments, and shares, its caption (or a note that it has none), any link preview, and a link to the post itself
The two options with media: the real files, not thumbnails
PostSnag's extension captures the real, playable video file behind every reel and video it captures, plus a cover image, not a compressed preview. Those real files are what land in the two media-carrying options:
Download media for AI gives you a .zip of just the actual video, reel, and image files, ready to open, watch, or reuse. There's no data file inside, no captions, no counts.
Download Data & Media for AI gives you a .zip with those same real files alongside the Markdown and CSV data files, so the caption, engagement totals, and dates sit right next to the media they describe.
This is different from the Media_URLs column in a CSV, or the media links inside a Markdown file, which point back to a cover image or the post on Facebook rather than handing you a downloaded copy. If you want the actual files, choose Download media for AI or Download Data & Media for AI; if you want a lightweight, text-only export, Download data for AI still links out instead of embedding anything.
Reactions are always a total, never a breakdown
Every option, including the data files bundled inside Download Data & Media for AI, reports one combined reactions number. The like, love, haha, wow, sad, and angry split, and Facebook's "Care" reaction, isn't in any exported file. That breakdown is only visible inside the dashboard itself, in a post's card, its post-detail view, and Analytics.
What's not included
A few things worth knowing before you rely on an export for something specific:
No reaction breakdown, in any option. See above; this holds true whether you're looking at a CSV, a Markdown file, or the data files inside a Download Data & Media for AI zip.
Markdown and CSV never embed media. They link to a cover image or the post itself. The real video and image files only travel inside the two options that include media.
The export reflects what you selected, not automatically your full capture history. The Export menu pulls everything captured for that profile or group. If you used multi-select instead, only the posts you ticked are included. The Posts page works differently, with its own four export buttons; see What is the Posts page, and how do I use it?
Bio and follower count are Markdown-only. CSV is strictly post-level data, one row per post, so there's nowhere in that format for profile-level details like bio or follower count to live. They appear in the Markdown file's header instead.
Post types you'll see
Every post is labeled as one of five types: Video, Photo, Album, Link, or Text. Reels are folded into the Video type rather than getting their own label, and a post with an external link preview attached shows as Link even if its underlying media is a photo.
Group and Posts-library exports don't carry every column a profile's does
A Facebook Group's export offers the same three options as a profile and follows the same reaction-total-only rule, but its data files aren't a straight copy of a profile's. A group's CSV adds Author and Username columns, since it spans posts from multiple people, but drops Views, Duration_Sec, Media_URLs, Link_Title, and Link_URL: just Author, Username, Posted, Type, Reactions, Comments, Shares, Content, and a link to the post. The group Markdown file follows the same one-section-per-post structure as a profile's, headed by the poster's name instead of the post type. Common questions
Does the export include the like, love, and haha breakdown?
No. Every exported option shows the total reaction count only. The full breakdown is available inside the dashboard, not in any exported file.
Does the CSV include the profile's bio or follower count?
No, CSV is post-level data only. Bio and follower count appear in the Markdown file's header instead.
Does an export include real image or video files?
Only if you choose Download media for AI or Download Data & Media for AI. Download data for AI links to a cover image or the post itself rather than embedding a file.
Why does my export have fewer posts than I expected?
If you used multi-select, only the posts you ticked are included. If you used the Export menu, it should cover everything captured at that scope; capture more with the extension first if something's missing. On the Free plan, only unlocked posts (up to the 30-post preview) can be included at all.
Is a Group's export the same as a profile's export?
Close, but not identical. It adds Author and Username columns, covers multiple people's posts, and offers the same three options and the same reaction-total-only rule, but its CSV leaves out a few of a profile CSV's columns. See How do I export a Facebook Group's posts?
