How do I capture a creator or public figure's posts?

A creator account is a personal profile with professional mode turned on, and PostSnag captures it exactly like any other profile.

PostSnag captures a creator or public figure's posts the same way it captures any Facebook profile, because a creator account is just a personal profile with professional mode turned on.

Professional mode changes how a profile looks and behaves on Facebook, adding a follow option and public content settings on top of the usual profile, but it's still a personal profile underneath. PostSnag doesn't treat it as a separate category: whatever you can scroll on their profile, PostSnag can capture.

Before you start

  • PostSnag is installed and pinned to your toolbar.

  • You're signed into Facebook in that browser tab, as yourself.

  • You're signed into PostSnag, with your email and password or Continue with Google.

  • You have the creator's profile open, either by searching their name or pasting their profile URL directly.

Capture a creator's posts

  1. Open the creator's Facebook profile.

  2. Click the PostSnag toolbar icon, or the floating PostSnag button on the page, to open the panel.

  3. Sign in if the panel asks you to.

  4. Check that Scanning Profile shows their name or username.

  5. Scroll down steadily through their posts, including Reels and videos.

  6. Watch the Collected count and the status pill as you go.

  7. Wait for Synced before you stop scrolling.

  8. Click Export To Dashboard to send everything to your PostSnag dashboard.

There's no separate button or setting for creator profiles anywhere in PostSnag. Whether or not you can tell someone's account is in professional mode makes no difference here; the same steps apply either way.

Good for studying Reels and top posts

Creator profiles tend to lean on video and Reels, and PostSnag captures both like any other post: classified by type, with a thumbnail saved as the cover image (PostSnag never stores the original video file). Once you've captured a creator's profile, the panel's Post Types breakdown shows their format mix, and Top Performing Posts surfaces their best 3, ranked by a score that weighs comments and shares more heavily than likes, so you can see what's actually working for them without scrolling through everything by eye. Comparing multiple creators

PostSnag captures one profile at a time. To compare a handful of creators in the same niche, capture and export each one individually, then work from your dashboard: sort each profile by engagement, or export a Markdown or CSV file for each and hand them to an AI tool to spot the patterns across all of them at once. Creator profile or Page: does it matter?

Some public figures run a formal Facebook Page instead of, or alongside, a personal profile in professional mode. PostSnag captures both the same way, so you don't need to figure out which one you're looking at before you start. Why this is useful for vetting and research

Because PostSnag works on any public creator profile, not just ones you manage, it's a common fit for vetting a creator before a paid collaboration, sizing up who else is posting in a niche before you enter it, or building a swipe file of what's working across several creators at once. Common questions

Is a creator profile different from a regular personal profile?
No. It's a personal profile with professional mode turned on. PostSnag captures it the same way.

Can PostSnag capture a creator's Reels?
Yes. Reels are captured as their own post type, with a thumbnail saved as the cover image rather than the video file.

Does this work on public figure Pages too, not just creator profiles?
Yes. Pages and creator profiles both use the same scroll-to-capture flow.

How do I know if someone's profile is in professional mode?
You don't need to. If you can view and scroll their public posts, PostSnag captures them the same way whether professional mode is on or not.

Can I capture and compare multiple creators?
Yes, one profile at a time. Capture each one, export it, then compare them on your dashboard or across exported files.
