What's the difference between cancelling and refunding?
Cancelling stops your PostSnag subscription from renewing. A refund returns money for a payment already made, available within 14 days of your first payment only.

Cancelling and refunding solve two different problems: cancelling stops your PostSnag subscription from renewing again, while a refund gives you money back for a payment you've already made. You can do either one alone, or both together, depending on what you need.

Cancelling, in short
Cancelling stops your Pro subscription from charging you again. You can cancel any time, right inside the app: open Settings, go to Billing, and click Cancel subscription. The Lemon Squeezy customer portal linked in your receipt or renewal email, and emailing support@postsnag.com, both work too. You keep access through the end of the period you already paid for, then your account moves to Free. See How do I cancel my PostSnag subscription? for the full walkthrough.
Cancelling by itself does not return any money to you. It only stops the next charge.
Refunding, in short
A refund returns the money from a payment you've already made. PostSnag offers a 14-day money-back guarantee, but only on your first payment on Pro or Lifetime, no explanation required. Request one by emailing support@postsnag.com within 14 days of that first payment, and it goes back to your original payment method. Renewal charges after the first one aren't covered by this guarantee. See What is the refund policy, and how do I request a refund? for the complete policy.
Requesting a refund does not automatically cancel your subscription. If you want both, ask for them together, or cancel separately using the steps above.
Can you cancel and get a refund at the same time?
Yes, if you're still within the 14-day window on your first payment. Email support@postsnag.com, ask for a refund, and mention that you'd also like your subscription cancelled. The team handles both in the same request.
If you're past the 14-day window, you can still cancel any time; you just won't be eligible for money back on payments already made.
When each one makes sense
- Cancel when you want to stop future charges, but you're fine with the time you've already paid for, or you're past the 14-day refund window.
- Refund when you're within 14 days of your first payment and decide PostSnag isn't for you.
- Both when you want your first payment back and don't want PostSnag to bill you again.
What neither one touches
Neither cancelling nor refunding deletes anything you've captured. Posts, Bookmarks, and Folders all stay exactly where they are; only your billing status changes. See What happens to my captured data if I downgrade or cancel? for the full breakdown.
If you're on the Free plan
Free costs nothing, so there's nothing to cancel and nothing to refund. If you're on Free and want your PostSnag account gone entirely, that's a different request; see How do I delete my account and data?
Related terms, side by side
- Cancel stops a future charge. It works any time, from Settings, the Lemon Squeezy portal, or support.
- Refund reverses a past charge. It only works within 14 days of your first payment, and only through support@postsnag.com.
- Downgrade is what happens automatically once a cancelled subscription's paid period ends; it isn't something you request separately.
Common questions
If I cancel, do I automatically get a refund?
No. Cancelling only stops future renewals. A refund is a separate request, and only available within 14 days of your first payment.
If I get a refund, does that cancel my subscription too?
Not automatically. Ask for both in the same email to support@postsnag.com if that's what you want.
Can I get a refund on a renewal payment, not just my first one?
No. The 14-day money-back guarantee applies to your first payment on Pro or Lifetime only.
Is Lifetime covered by the same refund window?
Yes. Lifetime's one-time payment is covered by the same 14-day money-back guarantee as Pro's first payment.
Do I lose my captured posts if I cancel or get a refund?
No. Everything you've captured stays in your account either way.
