Can I use PostSnag on my phone or in the Facebook app?
Capturing needs desktop Chrome or another Chromium browser. You can still view your PostSnag dashboard from a phone browser at app.postsnag.com.

No. PostSnag captures posts through a Chrome browser extension, so capturing needs a desktop or laptop computer running Chrome or another Chromium browser. It doesn't run inside the Facebook mobile app, in a phone's browser, or on a tablet. You can still view everything already in your dashboard from a phone; you just can't capture new posts from one.
Why capturing needs a desktop browser
Browser extensions like PostSnag only run in browsers built to support them, such as desktop Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Arc. Neither iOS nor Android lets any mobile browser install Chrome extensions, including Chrome itself; that's a restriction set by Apple and Google at the operating-system level, not a choice PostSnag made. The Facebook app adds another layer on top of that: it's a native app, not a browser tab, so there's no webpage for an extension to attach to in the first place.
Turning on "Request desktop site" in a phone's browser doesn't help either. That setting changes how a page looks so it renders more like a desktop layout, but it doesn't add extension support to the browser itself. The same is true of "desktop mode" features on some Android phones and tablets, like Samsung DeX: underneath, it's still the Android version of Chrome running, which doesn't support installing extensions. To capture posts, open the profile, Page, or group on Facebook using a desktop or laptop, in a Chromium browser with PostSnag installed, and scroll from there.
iPads and tablets
The same limitation applies to iPads, even with a keyboard or mouse attached. iPadOS doesn't support installing Chrome extensions in Safari or in Chrome for iPad, regardless of what accessories you connect. If you want a lightweight, tablet-style device that still supports PostSnag, a Chromebook is the closer option, since it runs the same Chrome as a desktop or laptop and installs the extension the same way.
Viewing your dashboard on your phone
Once posts are sent to your dashboard, you can browse them from your phone. Open a mobile browser and go to app.postsnag.com, sign in, and view your Profiles, Discovery, Bookmarks, Groups, Folders, and Analytics the same as on desktop. Exporting a profile to Markdown or CSV from the dashboard generally works from a phone browser too, since it's just a file download, though where the file lands and how you open it afterward depends on your phone's own file app. You just can't capture new posts from a phone, only review what you've already captured and exported from a desktop session.

If you need to capture while away from your computer
If you need to trigger a capture while you're away from your desk, one option is to remote into a computer that already has PostSnag installed, using a remote-desktop app on your phone, and drive it from there. That's not a native mobile feature of PostSnag; it's just your desktop computer, controlled remotely, but it works if you're in a pinch and don't want to wait until you're back at your machine.
Common questions
Is there a PostSnag app for iPhone or Android?
No. PostSnag is a Chrome extension plus a web dashboard. There's no dedicated mobile app, and nothing to announce about one.
Can I capture posts by scrolling Facebook in my phone's browser?
No. Capturing only happens through the extension running in a Chromium desktop browser. Scrolling Facebook in a phone browser, even with "desktop site" turned on, doesn't capture anything.
Can I at least see my captured posts on my phone?
Yes. Sign in to app.postsnag.com from any phone or tablet browser to browse your dashboard, filter posts, and check your analytics.
Does an iPad work if I attach a keyboard and mouse?
No. iPadOS doesn't support installing Chrome extensions in Safari or Chrome, regardless of what accessories are attached.
What's the easiest lightweight device that still works for capturing?
A Chromebook. It runs Chrome itself, so PostSnag installs and captures the same way it does on a full desktop or laptop.
