Can someone tell if I captured or analyzed their profile?

No. Nobody can tell you captured or analyzed their profile with PostSnag. It is read-only and never interacts with the profile in any way: no like, no follow, no view ping, no notification. You are viewing public posts the same way any visitor to that profile would, and PostSnag adds nothing on top of that normal visit.

Here is exactly why there is nothing for the other person to detect, and where the real boundaries of that guarantee are.

PostSnag only reads, it never interacts

Capturing a profile means PostSnag reads what is already loading in your own signed-in Facebook session as you scroll. That is the entire mechanism, and it works two ways at once:

• Reading Facebook's own responses. As Facebook's page loads posts while you scroll, PostSnag reads the data that already came back to your browser. It does not send a separate or different request to Facebook to go get that data; it only reads what Facebook already sent you.

• Reading the page itself. As a backup, PostSnag also reads the text and details already rendered on the page in front of you, the same information visible to your own eyes.

Neither of those two things sends a like, a follow, a friend request, a message, a comment, or any other signal to the profile you are looking at. There is no proxy standing in for you, no separate account acting on your behalf, and no automated request pretending to be someone else. There is simply nothing for PostSnag to have "done" that the profile owner could see, because it never took an action beyond reading.

What this looks like from the other side

From the profile owner's point of view, you are just someone who visited and scrolled their public posts, exactly like any other visitor. PostSnag does not add a second, extra layer of activity on top of that normal visit. Whatever ordinarily happens when someone views a public profile on Facebook is all that happens; PostSnag does not introduce anything beyond it.

What PostSnag never does on a profile

• Never likes, reacts to, or comments on posts. Capturing and reading are not the same as interacting.

• Never follows or friends anyone. PostSnag has no feature that does this, for anyone, ever.

• Never sends a message. Nothing you do in PostSnag reaches a profile's inbox.

• Never triggers a notification of any kind. There is no mechanism in PostSnag that pings, alerts, or flags a profile owner about anything.

Where the real boundary is

PostSnag's own part of this is fully read-only, and that part is guaranteed. What is outside PostSnag's control, and outside any tool's control, is whatever Facebook's own systems log internally about ordinary page views. PostSnag cannot see or control that, and neither can any other extension or website. The honest answer is: PostSnag itself adds no separate signal beyond a normal page view; anything beyond that is a question about how Facebook's own systems work, not about PostSnag.

Capturing from inside a Facebook Group

Opening a member's profile from inside a group works the same way. PostSnag reads that profile the same as it would anywhere else, and additionally tags what it captures to that group in your own dashboard. This does not change anything about how the visit looks to the profile owner; it is still just a normal profile view from PostSnag's side.

Common questions

Does scrolling a profile with PostSnag notify that person?
No. Viewing and capturing a public profile with PostSnag is the same as browsing it normally. It does not trigger any notification to them.

Does exporting or running Analytics on a profile alert its owner?
No. Exporting and Analytics happen entirely on your side, in your own dashboard, after you have already captured the posts. Neither one touches the profile again or sends it anything.

Is there any PostSnag feature that interacts with a profile automatically?
No. PostSnag has no feature that likes, follows, messages, or otherwise acts on a profile. It only reads and saves data from your own screen.

Could Facebook itself notify someone that I viewed their profile?
That depends entirely on Facebook's own systems, not PostSnag. PostSnag's own part is strictly read-only: it never adds any interaction beyond a normal page view.
