How do I pin PostSnag to my browser toolbar?
Pin PostSnag to your Chrome toolbar from the Extensions menu so its icon stays visible and one click away.

You pin PostSnag to your browser toolbar from Chrome's Extensions menu: click the puzzle-piece icon next to your address bar, find PostSnag in the list, and click its pin icon. It takes about ten seconds, and PostSnag stays pinned in your toolbar every time you open Chrome from then on.
You only need to do this once. It works the same way whether you're pinning PostSnag right after installing it or coming back to do it later.
Why pin PostSnag
Chrome doesn't add new extensions straight to your visible toolbar. Instead, it tucks them inside a collapsed Extensions menu, the puzzle-piece icon next to your address bar, alongside every other extension you've installed. That keeps your toolbar tidy by default, but it also means PostSnag is one extra click away every time you want it, unless you pin it.
Pinning doesn't change anything about how PostSnag works. Capturing, signing in, and syncing to your dashboard all work exactly the same whether PostSnag is pinned or not. Pinning only controls whether its icon is visible in your toolbar at a glance, or buried in the puzzle-piece dropdown.
How to pin PostSnag to your toolbar
Click the puzzle-piece Extensions icon in the top-right corner of Chrome, next to your address bar.
Find PostSnag in the list of installed extensions.
Click the pin icon on the right side of the PostSnag row. It switches from an outline pin to a solid, filled-in pin.
Close the menu by clicking anywhere else on the page.

The PostSnag icon now sits directly in your toolbar, next to your address bar, every time you open Chrome. You won't need to open the puzzle-piece menu again to reach it.
What the pinned icon does
Where the icon takes you depends on where you are and whether you're signed in. On a facebook.com tab while you're signed in to PostSnag, clicking the icon opens the on-page panel, where capturing happens. Anywhere else, or while you're signed out, it opens a small popup instead, with sign-in and an Open Dashboard button. Pinning doesn't change this behavior; it just makes the icon easier to reach either way. See "Why does the PostSnag icon open a small popup instead of the panel?" if that catches you off guard the first time.
If you use more than one Chrome profile or computer
Pinning is a setting tied to that specific browser, not to your PostSnag account. If you use separate Chrome profiles for work and personal browsing, or you use PostSnag on more than one computer, you'll need to install and pin it separately in each one. Signing in afterward with the same email or Google account brings your dashboard data along automatically; only the pin itself, and the extension install, are local to each browser.
Common questions
I don't see PostSnag in the Extensions menu at all.
Confirm it's installed first. Open the Chrome Web Store listing and check whether it says Add to Chrome or shows it's already added, then check the Extensions menu again. See "How do I install PostSnag from the Chrome Web Store?"
Do I have to pin PostSnag to use it?
No, pinning is optional. Without it, capturing and syncing still work the same; you'll just need to open the Extensions menu each time to reach PostSnag instead of clicking a toolbar icon directly.
I pinned PostSnag, but clicking it opens a small window instead of the panel.
That's expected if you're not on a facebook.com tab, or you're signed out. Go to a Facebook profile, Page, or group, sign in if needed, then click the icon again.
Can I unpin PostSnag later?
Yes. Open the Extensions menu, find PostSnag, and click the pin icon again to unpin it. This only changes what's visible in your toolbar; it doesn't affect your account, your captured posts, or anything already sent to your dashboard.
Does pinning affect my account or my free plan limits?
No. Pinning is purely a toolbar display setting. It has no effect on capturing, your account, your plan, or anything stored in your dashboard.
