PostSnag's Free plan costs $0, needs no credit card, and never expires. It includes the Chrome extension with live capture as you scroll, the full dashboard with Discovery, Analytics, Bookmarks, and Folders included, and up to 30 posts captured per profile across 3 scans a week.

Here's exactly what's included, how the two weekly limits work, and what you'll see once you hit one.

What Free includes

  • The Chrome extension, with the panel that captures posts as you scroll any Facebook profile, Page, creator account, or group

  • 3 profile scans per week

  • Up to 30 posts captured per profile, on each scan

  • The full dashboard: Profiles, Discovery, Analytics, Bookmarks, and Folders all work on Free. What's limited is how many profiles and posts you feed into them, not which parts of the dashboard you're allowed to open.

No card, no trial clock, no expiration date. You can stay on Free indefinitely and never be asked to pay.

The weekly scan limit

A scan is one pass of capturing a profile, Page, creator account, or Facebook Group as you scroll it, whether that pass captures 5 posts or the full 30. Free gives you 3 scans a week. You can check exactly where you stand in Settings > Usage: a "Weekly profile scans" meter shows a segmented bar (one segment per scan, lit segments are what's left), the exact count remaining, and the date your limit resets. The reset runs on a rolling 7-day clock from when your usage period started, not a fixed calendar day like the first of the month.

The 30-posts-per-profile cap

On each scan, Free saves the first 30 posts PostSnag captures off that profile to your dashboard. If a profile has more posts than that, the rest aren't lost. They simply aren't synced to your dashboard on that pass. See "Nothing you capture gets lost" below for what happens to them and how to get them later.

What you'll see when you hit a limit

The extension panel tells you directly when a limit applies, right above the Export To Dashboard button:

  1. Weekly scans used up: "You've used all 3 free scans this week." with a Go Pro for unlimited scans link next to it.

  2. Post cap applied on export: "Your free plan saved the first 30 posts of this profile." with a Go Pro to keep every post link next to it.

Both notices lead to the same Pro and Lifetime checkout. Neither one blocks you from continuing to browse or scroll Facebook itself; they just tell you what did and didn't make it into your dashboard on that pass.

Nothing you capture gets lost

Posts you scroll past stay saved locally in your browser regardless of the 30-post cap. PostSnag just doesn't sync the extra ones to your dashboard until your account covers them. Two different situations, two different fixes:

  • You already scrolled past 30 posts on Free, then upgraded. Open that profile again and click Export To Dashboard. PostSnag sends up whatever it had already captured beyond the cap, with no need to rescroll or rescan.

  • You want more of a profile's history than you originally scrolled. Scroll further back through the profile first to capture more of it, then export. PostSnag only has what you've actually scrolled past; it can't sync posts it never saw on your screen.

This is also why capturing a profile is worth doing even right at the free limit: nothing you scroll past on that pass is wasted, it's just waiting for a scan or a plan that can save it.

Common questions

Do I need a credit card for the Free plan?
No. Free costs $0, needs no card, and doesn't expire.

What counts as one scan?
Capturing a single profile, Page, creator account, or group as you scroll it counts as one scan, whether you capture 5 posts or the full 30.

When does my weekly scan limit reset?
On a rolling 7-day clock from when your usage period started. Settings > Usage and the extension panel both show your exact reset date.

Can I still use Discovery, Analytics, Bookmarks, and Folders on Free?
Yes. Every part of the dashboard is available on Free. What's capped is how many profiles you can scan per week and how many posts get saved per profile, not which dashboard sections you can open.

If I upgrade, do I get the posts I missed on Free?
Yes. Open the profile again and click Export To Dashboard; PostSnag sends up whatever it already captured past the Free cap, no rescan needed. To pull in more of a profile's history than you'd scrolled before, scroll through it again first, then export.
