How PostSnag captures data safely, what it never touches, and why your Facebook account stays safe.
- Is PostSnag affiliated with Facebook or Meta?No. PostSnag is an independent tool built by TokTools, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc.
- Is using PostSnag against Facebook's rules?PostSnag reads only public content already visible to you, client-side and read-only, but it can't speak for Facebook's own policies.
- Can someone tell if I captured or analyzed their profile?No. PostSnag is read-only and never interacts with a profile, so capturing or analyzing it leaves nothing for the owner to see.
- Does PostSnag sell my data?No. PostSnag does not sell your data. It works with a small set of named providers to run the service; connecting an AI platform through PostSnag MCP is your own choice, never a data sale.
- How long does PostSnag keep my data?PostSnag keeps your data while your account is active. Delete a single profile anytime; closing your account through support deactivates it, with a 30-day window to restore.
- Is PostSnag a bot? Does it automate Facebook?No. PostSnag never logs in, posts, or acts on your behalf, and nothing runs in the background; it only reads posts you scroll past yourself. Connecting PostSnag MCP doesn't change that.
- Does Discovery share my captured data with other PostSnag users?PostSnag's Discovery only shows patterns from creators and groups you track. Public posts you capture can be reused elsewhere in PostSnag; your account, Bookmarks, and Folders stay private.
- What data does PostSnag collect about me?PostSnag collects your account email, login method, and plan status, plus standard server logs; it never sees your Facebook password or card number, and PostSnag MCP never reads any of it.
- What Facebook data does PostSnag capture, and what does it never capture?PostSnag captures public post text, type, media including the real video file, engagement, and author details from a profile's main timeline. It never captures private posts, Messenger, or Stories.
- Where is my data stored, and who does PostSnag work with?Your PostSnag data lives in PostSnag's own database on Contabo, with captured media in Cloudflare R2. A short, named list of providers handles billing, sign-in, email, and delivery.
- Who owns the posts I capture, and can I use them?The original creators own the posts you capture with PostSnag, wherever that data travels inside PostSnag, including Discovery and PostSnag MCP. Using or republishing it is your responsibility.
- Why does PostSnag ask for the permissions it does?PostSnag requests only the browser permissions it needs to read Facebook pages you open and save your captures; it never touches other browsing.
- Will PostSnag get my Facebook account banned?PostSnag is read-only and runs in your own Facebook session, so it behaves like normal browsing rather than the automation Facebook's systems flag.
