The workflow

1. Rank them by what's actually working. Say you track three real estate agents in your market. Ask Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or Perplexity: "Rank the three realtors I captured by average engagement per post and tell me which post type wins for each." You get back a ranked list, not a pile of numbers to sort yourself, telling you who to study first and whether video walkthroughs or photos get them more engagement.

2. Turn their winners into your own hook bank. Once you know who's ahead, go after what they're actually saying. Ask: "Pull the ten most-shared posts across all three and write me five hooks in their style for my offer." You get five ready-to-use openers built from posts that already got shared, not a summary of why they worked.

3. Read the group they all post in for real complaints. If your competitors are active in the same Facebook Group, a local restaurant owners' group, say, ask: "Read the group they all post in and give me the five complaints members repeat, in the members' own words." Where PostSnag MCP stops

PostSnag MCP only reads what you've already captured. It can't browse Facebook itself, and it can't start a new capture: that still happens in the extension, while you're scrolling. If a fourth competitor turns up worth tracking, or a new group takes over the conversation your first one used to own, capture that with the extension first, then ask again. It never changes or deletes anything in your library, and it never asks for your Facebook login.

Common questions

Do I need to export anything before I can ask about my competitors?

No. Once PostSnag MCP is connected, it reads your captured library directly. Exporting a file is a separate option, useful if you want a document to hand off, but it's not required to ask a question.

Can PostSnag MCP find a competitor I haven't captured yet?

It can search by name across what the wider PostSnag community has captured and read that instead, but only when you name a specific creator or group. There's no way to pull up the whole community library at once, just to search it by name. Capturing them yourself with the extension is still how you build a library that's fully yours.

Does this work for a Facebook Group my competitors are all in?

Yes, once you've captured that group with the extension. PostSnag MCP can then read its posts and members the same way it reads a profile.
