PostSnag uses Lemon Squeezy to handle all its billing. Pro renews automatically every month until you cancel, and Lifetime is a single payment that never renews. This article covers how each plan bills, where your receipts go, and what to do if a charge looks wrong.
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record
PostSnag routes every payment, for both Pro and Lifetime, through Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record, meaning it's the company that actually processes the charge and the name your bank or card statement shows, not "PostSnag." PostSnag itself never sees or stores your full card details; it only receives confirmation from Lemon Squeezy that a payment succeeded and which plan it was for.
How Pro renewals work
Pro bills $19 to the same payment method every month, starting from the day you upgrade, and keeps renewing automatically on that same date each period. If you upgraded on the 10th, you're billed again on the 10th of each following month, with no separate action needed on your part to keep the plan active. This continues until you cancel.
How Lifetime billing works
Lifetime is a single $139 charge, processed once through Lemon Squeezy at checkout. Once it clears, there's nothing left to bill. Your access doesn't expire and never comes up for renewal again, so there's no recurring charge to watch your statement for or plan around cancelling later.
Receipts
Lemon Squeezy emails a receipt for every payment: Pro's monthly renewals and Lifetime's one-time charge alike, sent to the email on your PostSnag account. That receipt is also where you'll find the customer portal link, which is what you use to cancel a subscription or update billing details, since PostSnag doesn't have an in-app cancel button today. See How do I cancel my PostSnag subscription? and How do I update my payment method or billing details? for what to do with that link.
If you need a copy of a receipt for expensing or bookkeeping, see How do I get an invoice or receipt? Keep your receipts handy generally: the date on your first one is what starts the 14-day refund window, and the portal link inside the most recent one is what the Lemon Squeezy customer portal uses to find your subscription.
Where to see your current billing status
Your plan and billing status also show inside PostSnag itself, separate from waiting on a Lemon Squeezy email. In Settings > Usage, paid accounts see a checkmark next to "Profile scans" with an "Unlimited" pill, labeled either "Pro plan" or "Lifetime plan." That's a quick way to confirm which plan and billing type you're actually on. Free accounts see a weekly scan meter there instead, since there's no billing to show.
If a renewal charge looks wrong
If you don't recognize a charge on your statement, look for Lemon Squeezy first, since that's the name PostSnag payments run through rather than "PostSnag" itself. If it's still not clear once you've confirmed that, or a renewal charge was genuinely unintended, email support@postsnag.com and it'll be looked into.
If you're considering going straight to your bank for a chargeback, email support first instead. A chargeback can lock your account while the dispute is investigated, and most billing questions get resolved faster by asking directly.
Keep in mind the 14-day money-back guarantee applies to your first payment on a plan only. Renewal charges after that aren't automatically covered by it, though PostSnag reviews an unintended renewal charge in good faith if you reach out. See What is the refund policy, and how do I request a refund? for the full policy on what is and isn't covered.
Common questions
Will I be charged again automatically on Pro?
Yes, once a month, on the same date you upgraded, until you cancel.
Does Lifetime ever bill me again?
No. It's a single payment with no renewal, ever.
Does PostSnag see or store my card number?
No. Lemon Squeezy processes every payment, and PostSnag never sees or stores your full card details.
What if I don't recognize a PostSnag charge on my statement?
Look for Lemon Squeezy on your statement first, since that's the name the charge appears under. Email support@postsnag.com if it's still unclear.
How do I update my card or billing details?
Through the same Lemon Squeezy customer portal link in your receipt email. See How do I update my payment method or billing details?
