Updating your name, email, or password in PostSnag takes one stop: Settings, Account in your dashboard, where you make your changes and click Save changes.

How to update your details

  1. Open your account menu, your avatar and name in the top right of the dashboard, and click Settings.

  2. On the Settings page, subtitled "Manage your account, password and subscription," find the Account card at the top.

  3. Edit your Name and Email fields as needed.

  4. Click Save changes.

Settings shows "Saved!" once your update goes through, or an error message if something needs fixing, like an email address that's already in use on another account.

Changing your password uses this same Account card, right below your name and email. See How do I reset or change my password? for the full steps on that part specifically.

What "profile" means in PostSnag

PostSnag's Account card is the whole of what you can edit about your PostSnag identity: your display name, your account email, and your password. Your avatar in the account menu is just an initial letter generated from your name, not an uploaded photo; there's no profile picture or bio field anywhere in PostSnag, and no public-facing profile page the way Facebook has one. If you're looking for a way to customize how your account appears to others, there isn't one, because nothing about your PostSnag account is visible to other PostSnag users; it's private to you. Account details exist to identify you inside your own dashboard and for billing and support, not to be seen by anyone else.

If PostSnag rejects your change

Settings shows an error instead of "Saved!" in a couple of common cases: the email you entered is already tied to another PostSnag account, or a required field was left blank. Fix whatever the error points to and click Save changes again; nothing is saved until that confirmation appears, so a rejected change doesn't partially apply.

The rest of Settings, for context

The Account card is one of four sections on the Settings page:

  • Account: your Name, Email, and password fields, covered here.

  • Notifications: toggles for what kind of updates you get. See What do the notification settings do?

  • Usage: your weekly scan count on Free, or an Unlimited indicator on Pro and Lifetime.

  • Plans & pricing: your current plan and upgrade options.

Why keeping this accurate matters

Your account email is where PostSnag sends password reset links and any account or support notices. If you're on a paid plan, it's also the email checkout carries over to Lemon Squeezy for attribution, receipts, and renewal notices, so keep it an inbox you actually check, especially before upgrading or if you ever need to track down billing history.

Why keeping this accurate matters, part two

Your account email is also where support would reach you to verify your identity for a sensitive request, like confirming you're the one asking for your account and data to be deleted. See How do I delete my account and data? An outdated email makes that kind of request slower to resolve.

If you signed up with Google

The email in your Account card is your PostSnag account's contact email. If you signed up with Continue with Google, you still sign in through Google either way; updating this field changes where PostSnag reaches you, but it doesn't change which Google account you use to sign in.

Common questions

Can I change my email address?
Yes, from the Account card in Settings. Update the Email field and click Save changes.

Will changing my email change how I sign in?
No. If you sign in with a password, you'll keep using that same password with your new email. If you sign in with Google, you'll keep using Continue with Google regardless of what's in the Email field.

Can I change my display name?
Yes, from the same Account card. Update Name and click Save changes.

Can I add a profile picture or bio to my PostSnag account?
No, PostSnag's Account card covers name, email, and password only; there's no profile picture or bio field.

Where do I go to change my password instead?
Same place, the Account card in Settings. See How do I reset or change my password?
