How do I find and manage captured profiles?

PostSnag's Profiles page is where you find and manage every profile you've captured: your whole roster, split between profiles you captured directly and ones pulled in automatically from your groups, across four tabs: All profiles, Top profiles, Outlier profiles, and Analytics.

Directly captured vs pulled from your groups

Your roster has two sources. The first is every profile you've personally opened and captured. The second is every profile PostSnag adds automatically when you capture a Facebook group's feed: each member whose posts show up in that group gets their own profile entry, the same as anyone you captured directly. Because of that second source, your roster can grow far larger than the number of profiles you deliberately opened yourself, sometimes into the hundreds once a few active groups are in your library.

The four tabs

• All profiles: your whole roster in a sortable grid, with nine sort options: Recently captured, Most engagement, Most likes, Most comments, Most shares, Biggest audience, Most posts, Most groups, and Name A-Z.

• Top profiles: a straight ranking of every profile by engagement, audience, or post volume, sorted by Most engagement, Most likes, Most comments, Most shares, Biggest audience, or Most posts.

• Outlier profiles: the tracked creators currently punching above their own weight, the strongest average engagement relative to the median profile in your library, sorted by Biggest multiple, Most engagement, or Most posts. See What is an outlier post?

• Analytics: the same library-wide analytics you'll find on Overview and on the Posts page, available here without leaving Profiles.

Searching for a profile

The search box matches a profile's name, username, or bio, and it also matches the name of a group a profile belongs to, so searching a client's name or a group's name gets you to the right place either way.

Reading a profile card

Each card shows the profile's avatar, its display name (with a verified badge where Facebook shows one), and a chip for each Facebook group it's tied to if it belongs to more than one. Under the name you'll see either its @username, or, for profiles Facebook doesn't expose a username for, its numeric Facebook ID labeled ID: instead. Every card carries a bookmark icon and a delete icon, so you can save or remove a profile without opening it.

Opening a profile

Click anywhere else on a card to open that profile's own page: a header stat row, then Posts, Reels, and Analytics tabs, where you filter, sort, bookmark, and export what you've captured from that creator. See How do I filter, search, and sort a profile's posts?

Common questions

What's the difference between profiles I captured directly and ones from my groups?

Directly captured profiles are ones you personally opened and captured. Group profiles are added automatically when you capture a Facebook group's feed, one entry per member whose posts show up in it.

Can a single profile belong to more than one group?

Yes. If you've captured the same person's posts from more than one Facebook group, their card shows a chip for each one.

What does the Outlier profiles tab show me?

The tracked creators who currently have the strongest average engagement relative to the median profile in your library, without you having to scroll your whole roster to spot it.

Can I search by group name instead of a profile's name?

Yes. The search box matches group names as well as a profile's name, username, and bio.

Why does a profile show an ID instead of a username?

Facebook doesn't expose a username for every profile. When that's the case, PostSnag shows the numeric Facebook ID in its place instead of leaving the field blank.
