Does PostSnag sell my data?

No. PostSnag does not sell your data. It works with a small, named set of service providers to run the product itself, payments, hosting, email delivery, and the like, not to resell or share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Here's exactly who PostSnag works with, what each one does, what happens if you connect an AI platform through PostSnag MCP, and where the one real exception (public post data, not your account) fits in.

Who PostSnag works with to run the service

Each of these providers handles one specific part of running PostSnag:

• Lemon Squeezy: payments and billing, and PostSnag's merchant of record. Processes your subscription and handles your card details directly; PostSnag never sees your full card number.

• Google: sign-in, only if you choose to sign in with Google. PostSnag never sees or stores your Google password.

• Resend: sends transactional email, like receipts and account notices.

• Cloudflare: content delivery, serving assets like images quickly and reliably.

• Contabo: hosts PostSnag's servers.

• MongoDB: the database where your account and captured data are stored.

• New Relic: performance and error monitoring, helping catch problems before they affect you.

Each provider only receives what it needs to do its specific job. This is the complete list of outside providers PostSnag works with, not a partial sample, and none of them are in the business of buying your data from PostSnag, because PostSnag isn't selling it.

What "not selling data" actually means

Selling data usually means handing it to an advertiser, data broker, or unrelated third party in exchange for money, so it can be used for something unrelated to running PostSnag, like ad targeting elsewhere. PostSnag doesn't do that. The providers above each handle one specific operational job, processing a payment, sending an email, hosting a database, and PostSnag pays them for that service. None of them pay PostSnag for access to your data, and none of them use it for their own separate purposes.

What's never shared

Your account details, email, password, plan status, and your private Bookmarks and Folders are not shared with anyone outside the providers above, and never sold to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. That applies whether you're on the Free plan or a paid one; plan status doesn't change what's shared.

What about the public Facebook posts I capture?

The public post data you capture is different from your account data. PostSnag stores what you capture, captions, media, and engagement numbers, so it appears in your own dashboard: your Profiles library, Posts view, Overview, and Discovery. Because it's the same public content anyone viewing that profile could already see on Facebook, not something private to you, PostSnag can also store and reuse that public post data elsewhere within the product. That reuse stays inside PostSnag, for running features like Discovery and the community search inside PostSnag MCP; it is not the same as selling your data to an advertiser or data broker, and it never includes your account details, Bookmarks, or Folders. What happens when I connect Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or Perplexity

Connecting an AI platform to PostSnag is your own choice, and it works through PostSnag MCP, a connector that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or Perplexity read the profiles, posts, and groups already sitting in your PostSnag library, so you can ask about them in the chat instead of exporting a file first.

Here's exactly what that involves:

• It reads your captured library, nothing more. Once connected, the platform can look at the profiles, posts, groups, folders, and bookmarks you've captured, the same data you'd see in your own dashboard.

• Signing in uses your PostSnag account, not a data handoff. Connecting goes through OAuth against your PostSnag account: you sign in to PostSnag if it asks, and the platform never receives your PostSnag password directly.

• PostSnag never hands the platform your Facebook login. Your Facebook account and your PostSnag account are separate, and PostSnag MCP only ever touches the PostSnag side. There's nothing about your Facebook sign-in for the platform to see.

• It's read-only. PostSnag MCP can look at your captured library and answer questions about it. It can't add, change, or delete anything there, on either your PostSnag account or your Facebook account.

• A targeted question about a creator or group you haven't captured can read the same pooled public posts described above, the same way Discovery's community search would; it never reaches your account details, Bookmarks, or Folders.

• The platform's own data rules apply to what it reads. Once Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or Perplexity has read something from your library into a chat, how that platform stores or handles the conversation is governed by that platform's own policies, not PostSnag's.

• You can disconnect any time. Removing the connector inside the platform stops it from reading your library; nothing changes on the PostSnag side, and you can reconnect with the same link whenever you want.
